At EKJ&A General Contractor LLC ("EKJ PRO", "we", "us") we respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit remodelingekj.com (the "Site"), call us, text us or request an estimate; how we use it, who we share it with and what choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
EKJ&A General Contractor LLC is a residential and commercial remodeling contractor licensed by the MHIC in Maryland, serving Hyattsville, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Rockville, Bowie and nearby areas. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this Site. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page.
We collect information in three ways:
Information you give us directly:
Information collected automatically as you browse:
We do not ask for card numbers, bank accounts, Social Security numbers or other sensitive data through the Site or the chat. Please do not include them in your messages.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
If you call us or send us a text message (for example, with the "TXT" button on the Site), we use your number only to reply and follow up on your request. By texting us you agree that we may reply the same way.
The Site includes an automated virtual assistant. The messages you type are sent to our chat service and to the technology providers that run it, in order to generate a reply and keep the context of the conversation. The conversation lasts for your browsing session; reloading the page starts a new conversation in your browser. The assistant's answers are informational and are not a quote or a contractual commitment. For an official estimate, please contact us directly.
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. The Site only uses what is needed to work and to remember basic preferences (for example, your language or whether you have already seen a pop-up). We currently do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Some third-party content embedded in the Site, such as the Google Maps map on the contact page, may set its own cookies or receive your IP address when it loads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you do, some features of the Site may not work properly. If we add analytics or advertising tools in the future, we will update this section and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Where applicable law requires it, we treat opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) sent by your browser as a valid request not to sell or share your information.
We only share personal information in these cases:
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
The Site may link to or display content from third parties, such as Instagram, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Google Maps. Those services have their own privacy policies and we do not control how they handle your information. We recommend reviewing them before using them.
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, to handle your project and to meet legal, accounting and warranty obligations. As a guideline, inquiries that do not become a project are kept for [PERIOD, for example 24 months]; data from contracted projects is kept for as long as the law and applicable warranties require. When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymize it.
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to those who need it. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
Depending on where you live and applicable law (including Maryland and other state privacy laws, where they apply), you may:
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may ask for information to verify your identity. We will respond within the time set by law (generally 45 days). If you disagree with our response, you can contact your state's consumer protection authority, such as the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will say so prominently on the Site. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept it.
